Hello,
I'm a web developer with a background in biochemistry and a passion for continuous learning. Originally from Chile, I hold a degree in biochemistry and completed research in cell biology focused on how heavy alcohol consumption affects adolescence and adult brain. My academic journey took me abroad. First to Ireland, then to Germany, where I pursued a master's in biochemistry at the University of Cologne.
Life eventually led me to France, where I navigated the challenges of cultural adaptation and career transition. After exploring opportunities in my specialized field, I made a deliberate pivot toward web development, a decision that combined my analytical mindset with a newfound creative outlet.
The transition from science to programming has been incredibly rewarding. Many skills transfer naturally: problem-solving, logical thinking, and attention to detail. At the same time, I've embraced the challenge of learning new paradigms and technologies.
I formalized my training through a career-change program at OpenClassrooms, where I earned my certification as a web developer. Since then, I've continued building my skills through personal projects and ongoing learning, including advanced React development.
Currently based in Belgium, I'm excited to bring my unique perspective and diverse experience to new opportunities in web development.
My journey into programming began almost accidentally—with a game called CodeCombat.that turned learning into play. What started as curiosity quickly grew into genuine interest, leading me to explore web technologies through platforms like Laracasts and Grafikart.
I decided to formalize my self-taught knowledge by enrolling in a structured program at OpenClassrooms. Now I can say I am officially a web developer . Hoorray!!
Today, I work building responsive web applications and continuously expanding my skill set. I approach each project applying the analytical rigor from my biochemistry. Based in Belgium, I'm actively seeking opportunities to join a collaborative team where I can contribute meaningfully while continuing to grow as a developer.
